2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB vs. 2020 Audi Q3

The new Mercedes-Benz GLB is taking on the luxury compact SUV segment with a vehicle that listens to you, provides a spacious interior, automates driving tasks and delivers performance. The luxury compact segment sees many competitors, and it is important to compare the GLB to help you understand why it should be at the front of the pack. Here, we compare the GLB to an established competitor, the 2020 Audi Q3.

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB brings turbocharged power to life

The GLB features a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder that results in 221 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. With an acceleration of 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds, the GLB will lead you to a better place in traffic or a fun day on the open road. The Audi Q3 has the same engine, and it produces slightly more horsepower and the same amount of torque.

However, the GLB edges ahead in performance aided by an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. The dual-clutch design enables faster shifting and better acceleration. Even with seven more horsepower to manage, the Q3’s standard eight-speed automatic transmission results in a lower 0-100 km/h time of 7 seconds.

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB offers more versatility and cabin automation

The GLB provides more passenger volume than the Q3. It has more front head room (+28 mm) and leg room (+36 mm) and more rear head room (+53 mm) and leg room (+51 mm). That’s a sizeable difference on trips of any length.

The GLB’s usable cargo volume includes 1,804 litres behind the front seats and 680 litres behind the second row. The Q3 falls behind at 1,526 and 530 respective litres, which is a limitation when you need extra capacity for all-season lifestyle activities and family trips. The GLB also offers an optional third row for when you need the take more people on your adventures.

Each GLB features the acclaimed Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX), which is an interactive voice system unlike any other. It enables you to adjust many cabin features by prompting it with the “Hey, Mercedes” vocal command, and your passengers also can interact with the system. You won’t find this level of interaction on the Q3.

The GLB is a complete, luxurious solution for your family’s needs. You can shop for your car online with us. Our representatives are waiting for your call and can answer all your questions about the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB.
