2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe and Convertible Bring Impressive Tech to the table

The new 2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe and Convertible models were unveiled this week, and although they are technically only a “refresh”, they feel almost brand new. The 2021 E-Class two-door models get impressive new technology to improve safety and comfort, a new design, and a more refined, powerful engine lineup. Let’s take a look at the main improvements in the 2021 E-Class Coupe and Convertible.

New Engines featuring EQBoost

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe and Convertible will be offered in both E450 and AMG E 53 versions. The E450 swaps the previous turbo V6 for an inline-4 turbocharged six-cylinder that delivers 362 hp and 369 pound-feet of torque. The Mercedes-AMG E 53 Coupe and Convertibles bring 429 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque to the table. That means that you will reach 100 km/h in just 5.0 seconds while the convertible will need just 5.2 seconds to reach the same speed. The E 53 will need just 4.4 seconds to reach 100 km/h.

The big change, however, is the addition of the EQBoost technology. The mild hybrid system gives you an extra 21 hp or 184 pound-feet of torque when needed, but it also helps with various functions to lower overall fuel consumption.

Energizing Coach

The new Energizing Coach system will use a Garmin wearable device to detect the driver’s mood. Tired? The car will play an uplifting tune and massage your back vigorously. Feeling aggravated? The car will play relaxing music and massage you lightly to make you feel better.

Hey, Mercedes

The new Mercedes-Benz User Experience system is now offered in the 2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe and Convertible. It makes life easier for you by allowing you to communicate naturally with the car using voice commands. Need to change a function? Just say “Hey, Mercedes” and ask the car to do what you want it to do. It is housed in two large 12.3-inch screens that make up the infotainment system and the instrument cluster.
