2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC vs. 2021 Infiniti QX50: Advancements in Engineering

The GLC has carved out an impressive place for itself among vehicles in the luxury SUV segment. With a unique exterior, a tailored interior, extended performance and some of the most advanced technology available, the GLC offers many reasons to own one.

Here, we discuss some features of the GLC while comparing it to the Infiniti QX50.

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC has a model for you

Three distinct GLC models offer their own powertrain, which is a big plus over the QX50. The GLC 300 offers an efficient 2.0L turbo four-cylinder that produces 255 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. A popular model in the lineup, its responsive power and tamed consumption make it a favourite. The QX50's sole powertrain is quite similar generates just a little bit more horsepower, but it is much less reliable.

Where the QX50 stops, the GLC AMG lineup continues. The AMG 43 includes a 385-horsepower twin-turbo that introduces you to a new driving experience. And for drivers who want the most, the top-grade AMG 63 S receives a 503-horsepower 4.0L twin-turbo eight-cylinder.

The GLC 300 pairs with a 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission which upgrades to a Speedshift 9-speed in AMG models. The QX50 is limited to an anemic continuously variable transmission that is much more boring to drive. The GLC's legendary 4MATIC all-wheel drive system also benefits with special performance features.

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC is poised for the future

Each GLC features Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX), an interactive driver-vehicle system that uses artificial intelligence to help you reduce distracted driving. You and your passengers can use voice and touchscreen commands to have the GLC perform many functions, from adjusting the cabin temperature to helping you find a coffee shop. The QX50 does not offer anything as advanced as MBUX.

While you enjoy the GLC's automation, the interior provides additional luxuries. The brilliant instrument panel, sizable display screen, and range of upholstery colours and materials combine to create a modern environment that sets itself apart from the QX50. The GLC is also offered in a sleek Coupe body type.
