How the DYNAMIC Select System Helps You Enjoy Your Mercedes-Benz More Fully

Your Mercedes-Benz vehicle is available with DYNAMIC Select, an advanced drive mode selection systems that gives you access to four pre-set settings and a customisable one to cater to your preferences.

What does the system control?

The DYNAMIC Select system found in many Mercedes-Benz vehicles is very effective at changing the character of the car since it affects many of its systems. These include the adaptative air suspension, which can change height and firmness, steering system that can be made heavier or lighter, the accelerator pedal that can change its degree of sensitivity, and the transmission that can vary its shifts between quick and smooth, according to the drive mode you select with a toggle on the center console.

When to use each mode ?

The four pre-set drive modes all have a clear purpose that indicate when they should be used for your maximum enjoyment. The Eco mode can be selected when you want to maximise the fuel efficiency you can get from your Mercedes. The Comfort mode is the default setting that comes back every time the engine is started because it is the most balanced. This mode softens the air suspension and releases the tension in the steering controls in order to provide the most relaxing ride possible, even over broken terrain. The Sport mode is to be used when you want to benefit from more of the dynamic qualities of the cassis and powertrain and the Sport + mode is to be chosen when only the highest level of performances is desired. This means that the suspension and the steering are at their harshest while the accelerator become more sensitive and the transmission shifts quicker.

What if you have trouble choosing?

The Individual mode of the DYNAMIC Select system allows you to choose how your prefer all of the components that are controlled by the system. Thus, if you want to have a somewhat firm suspension with a soft steering, a smooth transmission and a sharp response from the accelerator, you can have it all by using the Individual mode.
